The M. Okada Science Research on Health and Spirituality
Creating the Science of Spiritual Preceding Physical and the Applied Sciences
Overview
The purpose of the M. Okada Science Research Program on Health and Spirituality is to honor the vision of M. Okada in this 70th anniversary of his discoveries in Johrei Science and take it forward into a new century of expanding discovery. This program serves as a catalyst to open new avenues of exploration and understanding of M. Okada’s theories and their application to health, education, agriculture, leadership and spirituality.
Starting in the 1930’s, M. Okada advocated and pioneered alternative spirituality, healthcare and agriculture that are fundamental to human life. He published the book “Tomorrow’s Medicine” which described his theoretical framework on “spiritual preceding physical and oneness between spiritual and physical” and advocated its rigorous scientific research in 1936. Over his lifetime, he applied his discovery in various disciplines and achieved a highly successful synthesis of artistic, compassionate and ecological lifestyle called Johrei Art of Living.
At this stage, the program seeks to promote a deeper understanding of the influence spirituality can have on the processes of healing and health, applying scientific rigor to M.Okada’s spiritual discoveries with an unusually bold, innovative, adventurous and interdisciplinary approach.
The program is composed to two primary components:
1. Research Symposiums and Conferences
2. Johrei Theoretical Model, Basic and Clinical Trials
