DONATIONS: BEING A CONTRIBUTION
WITH THE HELP OF CARING INDIVIDUALS WE CAN SERVE AND TRANSFORM LIVES
WAYS OF GIVING                                                                                                                                              A variety of charitable giving opportunities are available to you who want to help by contributing to the Campaign for Japanese Art of Healing for All at the MOFA. All gifts - large and small - are gratefully accepted.

ANNUAL FUND PROGRAM
The Annual Fund is foremost and vital to the MOFA’s charitable mission. The primary use of these funds is to further development of the Center’s educational as well as volunteer services to reduce the unnecessary sufferings of the lives of many people and promoting the life-affirming leadership.                                       Your support of the MOFA’s Annual Fund, along with other compassionate friends, can make a significant difference in the lives of many people.                Matching Gifts
Many corporations have established a program of matching contributions made by their employees to charitable organizations. For more information, please check with your personnel office or call the  MOFA. Memorial/Tribute Gifts
Memorial/tribute gifts are a wonderful way to celebrate someone’s sobriety or a special occasion, to thank a friend or relative for their support, to honor a special person in your life, or to remember the life of a loved one. Notification of your commemorative gift to the MOFA (without mention of gift amount) is sent to the honored relative or friend or to the family of the deceased.                                                                                    CAPITAL INITIATIVES                                   Shaping the Future…The MOFA/Lifeserve365 of Life’s Capital Campaign                                                        Main Campus of MOFA/Lifeserve365 Learning Community, MD                                               *Capital Campaign Goal: $3 million                                                                            Physical stable campus is an essential and vital part of the learning and healing process. Currently, the MOFA facility is rental. The MOFA seeks to build a campus to meet the demanding need of both the adult, adolescent and youth populations.                                           The ever-increasing community needs of the MOFA’s services calls for a broader and more innovative facility for the demonstration of the Compassionate, Artistic, and Sustainable Living to be installed.                                                                                           ENDOWMENT FUND                                      Gifts made to the Endowment Fund are used for the long-term support of programs offered by the MOFA. The principal gift is not used, but rather the investment earnings generated by the gift are distributed for programs and services. A portion of the earnings is reinvested with the principal to insure fund growth to keep up with inflation. A strong endowment fund provides security for future funding needs and insures that the MOFA’s services will remain accessible for years to come.

PLANNED GIVING                                           Will or Bequest
This is the easiest and most frequently used method of deferred giving. You can either add a provision in your existing will by writing a codicil or you can include the MOFA in your will as you draw it up. Contact our Office for specific bequest language. Remembering the MOFA in your will can be an important means of helping the MOFA sustain its mission of service to those experiencing various sufferings and restoring the oneness with the nature.                                                                                                                                        Life Insurance Policy, 401(k) or IRA
You can name the M.Okada Foundation of America as a beneficiary on your life insurance policy, 401(k), or IRA. As another option, you may choose to donate a paid-up life insurance policy to the Foundation. Nearly the full cash value of the policy will be tax deductible.                                                                                    Gift Annuity
A gift annuity guarantees you life income while providing a future benefit for the MOFA. And it is simple. You transfer cash or appreciated property such as stock to the Foundation. You then receive a sizable charitable deduction and a reduction in capital gains, if applicable. The Foundation will send you a quarterly check for your life and the life of another loved one if you choose. Please contact us for a no obligation proposal.                                                                                   Charitable Trusts
A charitable trust is a method of giving the Foundation appreciated stock, real estate or other assets while retaining rights to the income during your lifetime. A charitable trust will provide:                                      # An income for you and/or your beneficiaries selected by you for life or a period of up to 20 years.                  # An immediate and substantial income tax charitable deduction.                                                               # The avoidance of capital gains taxes if the trust is funded with long-term appreciated property.               # A substantial reduction of probate costs and estate taxes.                                                                                                              Stocks and Bonds
A gift of securities that has appreciated in value can result in benefits for the donor as well as become a valuable gift for the MOFA.                                                                                                    RECOGNITION
In recognition of your planned gift, you will become a member of the M. Okada Four Seasons Society and receive a beautiful Japanese Scroll of Korin Ogata along with a pin.                                                            For more information on the giving, please
contact the office.
